The Dérive application for iOS and Android does not collect any personally identifying information from our users. However, the application may collect non personal information and anonymous usage statistics using secure third party systems.
Non-Personal Information That Dérive Collects and Uses
Dérive collects non-personal information (data in a form that does not permit direct association with any specific individual). We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:
Journey information. This is needed in order to create and save journeys) including:
- Location – the app uses location services in order to map the journey you make and save it to your ‘Saved Journeys’ library. This can be disabled in the settings app on your device.
- Number of steps
- Duration of journey
- Distance travelled
App usage statistics such as operating system, number of app users etc. This helps us to improve app performance by identifying which features are most useful for our users.
It may be necessary − by law, legal process, or litigation − for Dérive to disclose non-personal information. Additionally, in the event of a reorganisation, merger, or sale we may transfer any and all information we collect to the relevant third party.
